Dirty Talk: Sweet Peachy Blush From Meow Cosmetics

I took advantage of Meow's Egg Hunt coupon codes over the Easter weekend and ended up getting my staple foundation and Taboo blush in Dirty Talk (both full size) without shipping fees. I rarely shop at Meow (although I love their products) because of the astoundingly high shipping costs of $14.95 (that's why I advertise their free shipping coupons if they apply to international orders). So when I get a coupon with free international shipping, you can be sure that I'm using it.

I love Meow's blushes, especially Lush Blushes that have that glow thing going on. I wanted to try out Taboo blushes and because I'm wacky that way, I immediately ordered Dirty Talk without sampling because I wanted a glowy peachy blush for spring.

This pic is taken outdoors without flash. The difference between Lush Blushes and Taboos is (as I can see it ) that Taboo seems to be more sparkly. The sunlight catches the shimmer especially well whereas indoors it's just glowy. I love the shade and I'm probably going to be using this like a.. okay, my comparisons would sound way too dirty so I'm going to leave it at that.

The same blush indoors. As you can see, the sparkle is barely visible.

I think peachy blushes are great for spring, especially for us who shun the thing called bronzer.

What kind of blush do you like to wear in spring/summer? Or do you turn to bronzers instead?

Purple Hi-Fi swatches

Hi-Fi Cosmetics doesn't seem to get enough love from me although I love Veronica's eyeshadows so here are some swatches of purple shades I picked up recently. Veronica has a spring sale: if you pick 2 eyeshadows, you get one free. Same thing with her new lipglosses. More info on her Etsy store. I have some more sale items coming my way... Can't wait to test the lippies.

Swatches are on TFSI and Pixie Epoxy, colour descriptions from Hi-Fi store.

(L to R) Immortal, Dismembered Constellation, Things That Cannot Speak

Immortal: a super-shimmery pale lavender

Dismembered Constellation: a cosmic purple with blue duochrome and a twinkling galaxy of blue sparkle!

Things That Cannot Speak: deep magenta hue with lots of fuschia and indigo glitters

Immortal is a gorgeous colour. It's almost mirror-y because it's so shiny. Dismembered Constellation has definite pink hues in it and I love the blue duochrome. Things that cannot Speak was created by Veronica's daughter Julia (I have to say wow, the girl has a serious eye for colour already) and while it's not deep enough to be vampy in real life, it's definitely edgy and beautiful. Of course, these colours go together like ice cream, chocolate sauce and cherries. Perfectly, that is.

I took this photo in the same lighting but I twisted my hand towards the light a bit to bring out the complexity of the shades a bit better.

In all, I love Hi-Fi Cosmetics and Veronica has a lot of lovely shades and a lot of lovely purples... ;)

See anything you like? Are you going to take advantage of Hi-Fi's spring sale or have you already done so?

Free Shipping on orders over $25 at Meow Cosmetics Today!

You get a free shipping with orders over $25 at Meow by using the code CatsHateTaxes. This includes international orders so if you want something from Meow and don't want to pay $14.95 on shipping, this is your chance. The coupon is only valid today (at least that's how I understood it).

My favourites from Meow are foundations, blushes and Egyptian Treasures eyeshadows.

Shoe Spam

Sorry for not posting looks in a long time but I've actually been busy! I've seen my friends, gone out for walks and tried to sort some things out. I'm posting looks next week, maybe even swatches if I get any hauls.

I wanted to share my latest haul with you. As you probably now, I love sneakers. And Converses are my favourite. I actually have an identical pair of these already but for some reason the rubber comes off in chunks. So I had to replace them.

Behold:

Anyone surprised they are purple? Anyone?

New Hair

Just a quick post... I had my hair cut today and I also walked to the hairdresser's and then back home which is about 4 kilometres. [cue for Rocky training montage]

So here's the new 'do. Sorry about the blotchy skin. Walking 4 kilometres with crutches is sweaty business! Plus this pic was taken at 6pm and I did my makeup just before 11am. No retouching, except for lippie.
