Meow July sale codes and a few words on Lost Rainforest Collection

Hi there!

I know, I know, I said my next post would be about Obsessed Minerals but I still haven't had the time to take swatch photos so this is just a quick post about Meow.

I love Meow but for sometime now I've been a bit dissappointed with their eyeshadow collections. There have been promises like "these colours are so vibrant that they are impossible to photograph" but when I've gotten my paws (teehee) on my goodies, I've let out a sigh. Yes, Meow has quality stuff, don't get me wrong there, but the eyeshadows from Meow that I love have mostly been neutrals. Because the more vibrant colours haven't been as striking as I'd imagined.

Yesterday I got my sample batch of the Lost Rainforest Collection. I opened the letter very slowly and almost closed my eyes when I pulled out the sample baggies. I was blown away. Finally Meow has come up with vibrant, fresh and multifaceted BRIGHT eyeshadows! My favourites are Bromeliad (sparkling coral), Torch (peach with golden fire) and Mantis (sort of a blueish golden aqua) (these colours look gorgeous together when you put Torch on whole upper lid, Bromeliad on the crease and Mantis on the lower lid) and I'm sure I'll be using Toucan (ruby pink) and Macaw (lively yellow with golden sheen), too.

Meow has always had the most amazing blushes and the Lost Rainforest blushes do not dissappoint. I just have to have a full size of Canna (ripe fresh cherry pink). What separates Lost Rainforest blushes from Meow's other blush range is that they are irisdecent. I love the shimmer, it's not over the top at all.

I just read my e-mails and The Lost Rainforest Collection is retiring September 1st (as does Caribbean Escape Collection). So there's still time to sample and even get full sizes, too!

Also, when you use these codes, you get a nifty discount AND a little surprise. Meow is coming up with new stuff later and when you use either of these codes, you get a couple of samples of the upcoming goodies! How cool is that!

You get 15% discount when you use the code CatsLoveJuly.

If you're getting more than $120 worth of stuff, use the code JulyPurr and you'll receive a 20% discount.

I wish I had some pics of my Bromeliad+Torch+Mantis look for you but I can't find my USB cable :(

Aromaleigh Hot in the City LE Collection and insured shipping

Hi there!

Sorry for neglecting you but I've been superbusy. I'm going through physical therapy due to a problem I've been having for quite some time so that takes a lot of my spare time.

So in order to show you guys that I haven't completely disappeared from the face of the blogosphere, I decided to post some information regarding Aromaleigh.

Kristen has come up with another LE Collection. This time the inspiration has been New York. The shades all look vibrant and range from neutrals to more brighter shades. I have to admit that I'm not as excited about this collection as I was about L'Orchidée or En Pointe. Don't get me wrong, the colours are gorgeous but I have similar stuff already.

My picks from the collection would be Window Shopping (neutral champagne buff with golden iridescent highlight and vivid gold sparkles), Girl's Night Out (warm purple frost with bright green sparkles), Hustle&Bustle (a warm coppery brown shade with iridescence of pearlized greens and roses), Lady Liberty (lustrous smokey blue green frost, the shade of weathered copper), Hoity Toity (deep smokey mauve tones with a metallic pewter undertone and bright sparkles of blue) and Swelter (lustrous tangerine with a pink iridescent highlight and contrasting purple sparkles).

Also, Aromaleigh has come up with a brilliant new shipping method for us international customers: insured shipping. It costs a couple of dollars more but if your order gets lost in the mail, you'll be covered. This new feature can be used with both full size AND sample orders.

Next time I will do a post on Obsessed Minerals with swathes and a review.

Oh, and btw, no one, I mean NO ONE, participated on my The She Space contest :( I'm a bit sad now. You can find me in the darkest and dankest corner, crying.
